## Project overview
Enomondo is owned equally by Hera Ambiente and Caviro Extra and operates a biomass combustion and compost-production facility in the industrial area of Faenza. The new district-heating system is a cogeneration plant that simultaneously produces electricity and heat. Energy is used by companies in the Caviro Group and by nearby civil and industrial users for heating, cooling, processing and domestic hot water.

The network distributes about 100,000 MWh of thermal energy per year. White Energy Group supported the project through Blue Easy Bio, a service designed to enable access to tax credits for industrial energy networks in a manager-user configuration.

## Renewable feedstock and energy production
The plant uses residues from the wine supply chain, including grape pomace, together with pruning waste and public green-maintenance residues collected at the Caviro Extra site. These materials are used to generate high-pressure, high-temperature steam, which drives a turbine to produce electricity.

Users are equipped with modern meters. Consumption readings are available through VEP, the Virtual Energy Platform developed by White Energy Group, enabling users to monitor energy consumption. Connected users include industrial facilities, craft businesses, residential users and the Alpha Tauri Formula 1 team headquarters located near Caviro Extra and Enomondo.

## Environmental and economic rationale
Enomondo states that centralized production using mainly renewable fuels can provide environmental and economic benefits compared with fossil natural gas. Steam can serve both Caviro Extra internal processes and neighboring homes and businesses.

White Energy states that the project began with a first site inspection in February 2017. The company also reports having supported other clients in accessing its Certificati Blu service for biomass-powered small and medium industrial district-heating networks across Italy. Future extensions could potentially supply high-consumption public buildings such as a municipal swimming pool or hospital.
