## The Virtual Energy Platform and VEP Services
The Virtual Energy Platform (VEP) is a software platform dedicated to controlling data collected in the field and managing the energy efficiency of enterprise networks. It combines control technologies with the IoT world and uses real-time data, analytics, IoT technologies and actuations to improve the efficiency of a grid system.

Built according to Industry 4.0 principles, VEP models a company’s organizational structure in a modular way and integrates with the customer’s core software, including data warehouses, SCADA systems and other IoT software. It uses their functionality and data to support processes aimed at increasing the efficiency of managed networks.

A central hub collects and processes data received from peripheral units called White Boxes. The White Boxes interface with smart-metering instruments for electrical or thermal energy installed at the production unit and send field data over the Internet to the central system.

The central system acquires and processes the data and makes it available to registered users on the VEP web platform through SCADA-like visualizations and widgets. Information about system utilities can be accessed remotely from PCs or mobile devices through a web browser login.

The VEP service is bundled with White, Blue and Green services and is also available as a standalone service for industrial customers that need metering and energy-intelligence capabilities.
