The **Virtual Energy Platform (VEP)** is a software platform dedicated to controlling data collected in the field and managing the energy efficiency of corporate networks.

## How VEP works

A central hub collects and processes data received from peripheral units called **White Boxes**. The White Boxes interface with smart-metering devices for electrical or thermal energy installed at production units and send the collected field data via the internet to the central system.

The central system acquires and processes the data and makes it available to registered users on the VEP web platform through SCADA-style visualizations or widgets. System information can be accessed remotely from PCs or mobile devices through a web browser using a user ID and password.

## Service availability

The **VEP service** is provided:

- as part of a bundle for customers of White, Blue, and Green services;
- as a stand-alone service for industrial customers that only need measurement and energy intelligence.
