Complex project development strategy in energy transition is strengthened

Ensol Arena S.r.l., a subsidiary of White Energy Group S.p.A., has finalized the sale of the utility scale photovoltaic project business unit to a leading industrial operator in the renewable energy sector.

White Energy Group S.p.A., an ESCo headquartered in Verona, specializes in consulting and implementing solutions for energy efficiency and transition to renewable sources, aimed at the business world.

The project, developed by Ensol Arena S.r.l., is located in the municipality of Arena Po (PV) and concerns the construction of a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant, intended to sell the energy produced to the grid. The identified area, exceeding six and a half hectares, is classified as suitable and will host a plant with a total capacity of 5.303 MWp, consisting of 12,478 425 W modules, with an expected specific production of 1,284 kWh/kWp.

The permit for the construction of the plant (PAS) was obtained in November 2024. In the following months, White Energy Group started the activity of valorizing the project, finalizing in December 2024 a preliminary agreement for the sale of the business unit.

The initiative is perfectly in line with the trend in the Italian renewables market, which rewards medium-sized projects that are already authorized and ready for construction. The ability to develop complete and authorized solutions represents a distinctive asset of White Energy Group, capable of attracting industrial operators interested in the construction and operation phase of the plants.

“This operation,” says Giovanni Tellini, founder of White Energy Group and director of Ensol Arena S.r.l. – represents a concrete step in Ensol Arena’s strategy: to develop projects that are complete from the authorization point of view, ready to be implemented by industrial operators with solid capabilities.”

“For Whitenergy,” says Gianluigi Mele, managing director of White Energy Group, “the sale represents an important industrial and strategic milestone. We confirm our ability to develop quality and higher complexity photovoltaic projects and, at the same time, we lay the foundations for an evolution of the strategies of the subsidiary Ensol Aren, which will be able to reinvest the proceeds of the divestment toward investment initiatives dedicated to the C&I (Commercial & Industrial) segment, more in line with the Whitenergy target than the Utility scale segment. Of course, the investments will be made in ESCo mode, i.e., directly financing the plants and supplying the energy to our customers.”

With this transaction, White Energy Group consolidates its role as a qualified operator in the development of complex projects within the energy transition and strengthens its strategic positioning in the fast-growing C&I market, actively contributing to the spread of direct investment solutions implemented by ESCos for the benefit of its clients.
