Incentives for heat use from geothermal energy
Reduce thermal costs, improve efficiency, and access incentives for geothermal-powered systems.
OUR VALUE
Heat from geothermal energy
Geothermal heat represents a crucial component in industrial and civil production processes. Using geothermal as an alternative to fossil fuels provides important benefits: reduced operating costs, lower emissions, and access to incentive tools.
White Energy has developed the Blue Geo model, which makes it possible to enhance the value of geothermal heat used by awarding Blue Certificates®, which can be combined with other national incentives.
Blue Geo service includes:
- Technical-economic feasibility analysis
- Administrative and contractual support
- Measurement and certification of useful thermal energy
- Access to the Blue Certificates® mechanism.
PARTNER
SERVICE
Blue Geo
The operation of the Blue Geo model is based on a clear and transparent configuration of the flow of energy and incentives:
- NewCo or heat managing entity: is responsible for geothermal thermal energy production and management of the distribution network.
- Certified heat energy meter: installed between the operator and the customer, it accurately measures the heat delivered and enables timely billing of distributed heat energy.
- End customer: can be a business, hotel, agricultural, or health facility that consumes heat supplied by the grid.
With certified metering and heat tracking, the operator accesses Blue Certificates® (CeBs), an economic incentive recognized annually based on the useful heat distributed.
SECTORS
Who Blue Geo addresses
Hotelier
Hotels, resorts and medium to large hotel facilities using geothermal heat pumps for heating, air conditioning and domestic hot water. The hotel sector is among the main beneficiaries of the Blue Geo model because of its high thermal demand and comfort and sustainability benefits.
CASE STUDY.
Blue Geo
The project
Hotel Ariston Molino Buja is a historic 4-star hotel in Abano Terme, specializing in thermal and wellness stays, with large spaces dedicated to relaxation, swimming pools and therapeutic treatments. The facility has implemented the Blue Geo model to certify and enhance the geothermal energy used in its thermal and air conditioning systems, accessing the tax incentives provided by the Blue Certificates® mechanism.
The results
- Thermal energy consumed (CDI): about 490 MWh_th / semester
- Average tax credit accrued: about €11,100 / semester
- Economic savings
The project
TheAbano Grand Hotel is an exclusive 5-star luxury hotel of the GB Hotels group, located in the heart of the Euganean thermal basin. It is known for its excellent services and wellness treatments based on thermal water. The Grand Hotel has also chosen the Blue Geo model, integrating geothermal energy into its heating and domestic water systems to increase operational sustainability and benefit from CDI incentives.
The results
- Thermal energy consumed (CDI): about 560 MWh_th / semester
- Average tax credit accrued: about €13,300 / semester
Frequently asked questions
Do you have doubts? Here are the answers about the Blue GEO service:
-
What are Blue Certificates®?
An incentive recognized for heat distributed through geothermal networks or geothermal heat pump systems, used in production processes or for environmental heating.
-
To whom is Blue Geo addressed?
Companies, entities and facilities that use heat from geothermal sources for direct heating, domestic hot water or production processes.
-
Can I combine Blue Certificates® with other incentives?
Yes. The system is compatible with TEE, Conto Termico 2.0, All-Inclusive Tariff and other RES tools.
-
How long does the benefit last?
Blue Certificates® are awarded annually, as long as the system meets regulatory requirements and heat is measured and tracked in a compliant manner.
