White Energy Group, an Esco specializing in the consulting and implementation of energy efficiency solutions and a certified Innovative SME, continues its line of interventions dedicated to the energy efficiency of energy-intensive facilities, with the aim of facilitating the energy transition of companies.

This time the intervention concerns the construction of a new 3.3 Mwe methane-powered co-generator at the Maranello (Mo) plant of the Ceramiche Ricchetti Group, Italy’s leading manufacturer of quality ceramic wall tiles. The plant will save 1,400 TOE (Tons of Oil Equivalent), which is equivalent to a reduction of 2,800 tons of Co2 emitted each year.

The plant will be built under an EPC formula and energy service mode, that is, with a performance guarantee on the work performed and with Energia Futura, the White Energy subsidiary that concluded negotiations with the Ceramiche Ricchetti Group, assuming the financing burden.

The characteristics of the project, developed together with partners AB Energy Spa supplier of the cogeneration island and Poppi Clementino Spa for the recovery and optimization part of heat flows in the form of flue gas and hot water, are as follows:

• Ecomax 33 natural gas reciprocating engine of 3,352 kW electric and 3,700 kW thermal
• Production of about 21,840,000 annual electric kWh and about 15,540,000 thermal kWh

“This is an important result,” explains Gianluigi Mele, managing director of the Verona-based Esco, “because it confirms the quality of White Energy’s offer in the field of cogeneration interventions financed directly with an EPC (Energy Performance Contract) formula and developed with special purpose vehicles, which we call Green initiatives. Several other negotiations are ongoing and we have started scouting for possible financial partners to support us in the implementation of future projects.”
